# Werdsmith vs IdeaPad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: IdeaPad at none against Werdsmith's 7. IdeaPad also leads on iOS requirement (11.2 vs 17.0). Werdsmith's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 50%) and ratings volume (8K vs 12). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werdsmith sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. IdeaPad asks for nothing beyond the download.

Werdsmith holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Werdsmith has 8K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Werdsmith's written reviews are positive against 50% of IdeaPad's.

Werdsmith ships an update fortnightly, IdeaPad every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
