# Werdsmith vs 3 Minute Journal

The clearest difference is ads: Werdsmith at none against 3 Minute Journal's shown. Werdsmith also leads on ratings volume (8.1K vs 12) and review sentiment (82% vs 63%). 3 Minute Journal's advantage is update cadence (every 2 days vs fortnightly) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werdsmith sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and 3 Minute Journal sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Werdsmith has 8.1K ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two.
