# Werdsmith vs SoloScribe

The clearest difference is ads: Werdsmith at none against SoloScribe's shown. Werdsmith also leads on ratings volume (8.1K vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.1). SoloScribe's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werdsmith sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and SoloScribe sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SoloScribe holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Werdsmith has 8.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
