# Werdsmith vs Word Sprint

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Werdsmith at 8.1K against Word Sprint's 3. Werdsmith also leads on device support (3 vs 1). Word Sprint's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and update cadence (every 4 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werdsmith sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Word Sprint sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Word Sprint holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Werdsmith has 8.1K ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Werdsmith ships an update fortnightly, Word Sprint every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
