# Werdsmith vs Kite

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Werdsmith at 8.1K against Kite's 4. Kite's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7) and review sentiment (100% vs 82%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Werdsmith sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and Kite sells 2 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kite holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Werdsmith has 8.1K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 82% of Werdsmith's written reviews are positive against 100% of Kite's.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on November 3, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
