# 4Time vs The Standard Timer

The clearest difference is rating: The Standard Timer at 5.0 against 4Time's 4.4. The Standard Timer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 7). 4Time's advantage is review sentiment (90% vs 50%) and price ($0.99 vs $4.99). On update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

4Time costs $0.99 and The Standard Timer $4.99 up front. 4Time sells 7 one-off in-app purchases. The Standard Timer asks for nothing beyond the download.

The Standard Timer holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: 4Time has 49 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 90% of 4Time's written reviews are positive against 50% of The Standard Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

4Time ships an update every 3 months, The Standard Timer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
