# Trip Planner Pro vs Road Trip Planner Viewer

The clearest difference is rating: Road Trip Planner Viewer at 4.1 against Trip Planner Pro's 3.5. Road Trip Planner Viewer also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 2) and ratings volume (2.6K vs 11). Trip Planner Pro's advantage is review sentiment (50% vs 31%) and iOS requirement (9.0 vs 12.4). On price, update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Trip Planner Pro sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Road Trip Planner Viewer asks for nothing beyond the download.

Road Trip Planner Viewer holds the better App Store score, 4.1 against 3.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Road Trip Planner Viewer has 2.6K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of Trip Planner Pro's written reviews are positive against 31% of Road Trip Planner Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Trip Planner Pro ships an update every 6 weeks, Road Trip Planner Viewer every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
