# MioCards vs RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder

The clearest difference is review sentiment: RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder at 76% against MioCards's 33%. RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder also leads on ratings volume (4 vs 1). MioCards's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.8). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MioCards sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder sells 9 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 3 months. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

MioCards holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 4 respectively. Written reviews complicate that: 33% of MioCards's written reviews are positive against 76% of RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MioCards ships an update monthly, RoxyPenguin Vocabulary Builder every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 2, 2026 respectively.
