# MioCards vs MoDic

The clearest difference is monetization model: MioCards at free against MoDic's free with in-app purchases. MioCards also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 89%). MoDic's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 4 months) and iOS requirement (7.1 vs 15.5). On price, rating, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MioCards sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and MoDic sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for MioCards against 5.0 for MoDic. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 2 respectively. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of MioCards's written reviews are positive against 89% of MoDic's.
