# ThreeNine vs Super Waves

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: ThreeNine at none against Super Waves's 10. ThreeNine also leads on update cadence (every 5 months vs every 68 months). Super Waves's advantage is ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Super Waves sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. ThreeNine asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.0 for ThreeNine against 4.1 for Super Waves. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Super Waves has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ThreeNine ships an update every 5 months, Super Waves every 68 months. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 4, 2026 respectively.
