# Symbol Pad Pro vs Emoji for Message

The clearest difference is price: Emoji for Message at Free against Symbol Pad Pro's $0.99. Emoji for Message also leads on ratings volume (6K vs 115) and review sentiment (85% vs 68%). Symbol Pad Pro's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.8 vs 4.6). On update cadence, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Emoji for Message is free to download; Symbol Pad Pro costs $0.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Symbol Pad Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Emoji for Message has 6K ratings behind it against 115, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of Symbol Pad Pro's written reviews are positive against 85% of Emoji for Message's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
