# Palm Reader vs Fortune Cookie Messages

The clearest difference is rating: Fortune Cookie Messages at 5.0 against Palm Reader's 4.3. Palm Reader's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 1) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Palm Reader sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Fortune Cookie Messages sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Fortune Cookie Messages holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Palm Reader has 10K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Palm Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, Fortune Cookie Messages every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 29, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
