# Palm Reader vs FaceMap

The clearest difference is ads: FaceMap at none against Palm Reader's shown. FaceMap also leads on update cadence (daily vs every 2 weeks). Palm Reader's advantage is ratings volume (10K vs 19) and rating (4.3 vs 4.1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Palm Reader sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and FaceMap sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Palm Reader holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 4.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Palm Reader has 10K ratings behind it against 19, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Palm Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, FaceMap daily. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
