# PackTrack App vs NIRLab

The clearest difference is update cadence: NIRLab at every 2 weeks against PackTrack App's every 4 months. PackTrack App's advantage is ratings volume (5 vs 1) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for PackTrack App against 5.0 for NIRLab. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PackTrack App has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PackTrack App ships an update every 4 months, NIRLab every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
