# Sol vs Etesian Wind

The clearest difference is price: Etesian Wind at Free against Sol's $4.99. Etesian Wind also leads on iOS requirement (13.0 vs 18.0). Sol's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.0) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 20 months). On ads, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Etesian Wind is free to download; Sol costs $4.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sol holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sol has 898 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Sol ships an update every 2 months, Etesian Wind every 20 months. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 17, 2026 respectively.
