# FlashPass vs HobbsMate

The clearest difference is update cadence: HobbsMate at every 2 days against FlashPass's weekly. HobbsMate also leads on iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). FlashPass's advantage is ratings volume (203 vs 10). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlashPass sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and HobbsMate sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $14.00 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for FlashPass against 5.0 for HobbsMate. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlashPass has 203 ratings behind it against 10, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 99% and 100% positive.

FlashPass ships an update weekly, HobbsMate every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on September 22, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
