# NIR Color vs Distressed FX

The clearest difference is price: NIR Color at $2.99 against Distressed FX's $19.99. NIR Color also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 13) and review sentiment (83% vs 72%). Distressed FX's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and ratings volume (1.2K vs 21). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

NIR Color costs $2.99 and Distressed FX $19.99 up front. Distressed FX sells 13 one-off in-app purchases. NIR Color asks for nothing beyond the download.

Distressed FX holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Distressed FX has 1.2K ratings behind it against 21, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 83% of NIR Color's written reviews are positive against 72% of Distressed FX's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

NIR Color ships an update every 10 months, Distressed FX every 3 months. Both last shipped on October 22, 2026.
