# NewSpring vs Cateechee

The clearest difference is rating: Cateechee at 5.0 against NewSpring's 4.6. Cateechee also leads on iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.0). NewSpring's advantage is update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 5 months) and ratings volume (88 vs 2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Cateechee holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: NewSpring has 88 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

NewSpring ships an update every 3 weeks, Cateechee every 5 months. The most recent releases landed on October 20, 2026 and September 24, 2026 respectively.
