# Cursive Practice vs HandwritingAI

Cursive Practice and HandwritingAI both sit at 3.9 stars, but that hides the real split: 100% of HandwritingAI's written reviews are positive against 57% of Cursive Practice's. HandwritingAI also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks). Cursive Practice's advantage is ratings volume (113 vs 12) and iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.0). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Cursive Practice sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and HandwritingAI sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Cursive Practice holds the better App Store score, 3.9 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Cursive Practice has 113 ratings behind it against 12, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 57% of Cursive Practice's written reviews are positive against 100% of HandwritingAI's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Cursive Practice ships an update every 5 weeks, HandwritingAI every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
