# SunPass vs VIAVAN

The clearest difference is update cadence: VIAVAN at weekly against SunPass's every 4 months. SunPass's advantage is chart position (#143 vs unranked) and iOS requirement (11.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

SunPass ships an update every 4 months, VIAVAN weekly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
