# Clear vs Password Manager

The clearest difference is rating: Clear at 4.6 against Password Manager's 3.8. Clear also leads on update cadence (every 3 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (5.2K vs 4). Password Manager's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 62%). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Clear sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Password Manager sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Clear holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Clear has 5.2K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of Clear's written reviews are positive against 100% of Password Manager's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Clear ships an update every 3 days, Password Manager monthly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
