# N3 vs Sharp Japanese

The clearest difference is monetization model: Sharp Japanese at free against N3's paid. Sharp Japanese also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 25 months) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

N3 ships an update every 25 months, Sharp Japanese every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 7, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
