# Polaris® vs Mob Armor GPS

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Polaris® at none against Mob Armor GPS's 1. Polaris® also leads on update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (2.9K vs 34). Mob Armor GPS's advantage is review sentiment (68% vs 45%) and iOS requirement (12.1 vs 17.0). On price, rating, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Mob Armor GPS sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $19.99 per year. Polaris® asks for nothing beyond the download.

Polaris® holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Polaris® has 2.9K ratings behind it against 34, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 45% of Polaris®'s written reviews are positive against 68% of Mob Armor GPS's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Polaris® ships an update monthly, Mob Armor GPS every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
