# Flashlight vs Reading Lamp

The clearest difference is rating: Flashlight at 4.9 against Reading Lamp's 3.1. Flashlight also leads on ratings volume (99K vs 14) and review sentiment (90% vs 73%). Reading Lamp's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Flashlight holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 3.1. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Flashlight has 99K ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 90% of Flashlight's written reviews are positive against 73% of Reading Lamp's.
