# MathGraph vs Symbolab Graphing Calculator

The clearest difference is review sentiment: MathGraph at 91% against Symbolab Graphing Calculator's 45%. MathGraph also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 15.0). Symbolab Graphing Calculator's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 2.6) and ratings volume (214 vs 9). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Symbolab Graphing Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Symbolab Graphing Calculator has 214 ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of MathGraph's written reviews are positive against 45% of Symbolab Graphing Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MathGraph ships an update every 5 months, Symbolab Graphing Calculator every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
