# MathGraph vs Desmos Graphing Calculator

The clearest difference is rating: Desmos Graphing Calculator at 4.3 against MathGraph's 2.6. Desmos Graphing Calculator also leads on ratings volume (1.3K vs 9) and update cadence (every 2 months vs every 5 months). MathGraph's advantage is review sentiment (91% vs 81%) and iOS requirement (6.0 vs 16.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Desmos Graphing Calculator holds the better App Store score, 4.3 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Desmos Graphing Calculator has 1.3K ratings behind it against 9, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 91% of MathGraph's written reviews are positive against 81% of Desmos Graphing Calculator's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MathGraph ships an update every 5 months, Desmos Graphing Calculator every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 16, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
