# iPhone Life vs Outside

The clearest difference is update cadence: Outside at every 3 weeks against iPhone Life's every 4 months. Outside also leads on ratings volume (1.8K vs 119) and chart position (#124 vs unranked). iPhone Life's advantage is review sentiment (41% vs 22%). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. iPhone Life sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $49.99 per year and Outside sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $89.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.5 for iPhone Life against 4.6 for Outside. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Outside has 1.8K ratings behind it against 119, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 41% of iPhone Life's written reviews are positive against 22% of Outside's.

iPhone Life ships an update every 4 months, Outside every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 16, 2026.
