# TimerCam vs Selfie Stick

The clearest difference is rating: TimerCam at 4.8 against Selfie Stick's 3.7. TimerCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 9 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Selfie Stick's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (71% vs 62%). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimerCam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Selfie Stick sells 4 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TimerCam holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TimerCam has 85 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of TimerCam's written reviews are positive against 71% of Selfie Stick's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TimerCam ships an update every 3 weeks, Selfie Stick every 9 months. The most recent releases landed on October 19, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
