# TimerCam vs Auto Camera

The clearest difference is rating: TimerCam at 4.8 against Auto Camera's 1.0. TimerCam also leads on update cadence (every 3 weeks vs every 40 months) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). Auto Camera's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (71% vs 62%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TimerCam sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Auto Camera sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TimerCam holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: TimerCam has 85 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 62% of TimerCam's written reviews are positive against 71% of Auto Camera's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

TimerCam ships an update every 3 weeks, Auto Camera every 40 months. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
