# MyGIS vs Map Stretch

The clearest difference is rating: Map Stretch at 4.2 against MyGIS's 1.0. Map Stretch also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 4 months). MyGIS's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 78%). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Map Stretch holds the better App Store score, 4.2 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Map Stretch has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of MyGIS's written reviews are positive against 78% of Map Stretch's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

MyGIS ships an update every 4 months, Map Stretch every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
