# pmx vs Science Tools

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: pmx at none against Science Tools's 1. pmx also leads on iOS requirement (7.0 vs 16.0). Science Tools's advantage is update cadence (every 2 months vs every 13 months). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Science Tools sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. pmx asks for nothing beyond the download.

pmx ships an update every 13 months, Science Tools every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on September 16, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
