# Mesonet vs FOX23 Weather

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Mesonet at 79% against FOX23 Weather's 39%. Mesonet also leads on ads (none vs shown) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). FOX23 Weather's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (6.4K vs 97). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and chart position there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

FOX23 Weather holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FOX23 Weather has 6.4K ratings behind it against 97, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 79% of Mesonet's written reviews are positive against 39% of FOX23 Weather's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Mesonet ships an update every 2 months, FOX23 Weather every 3 months. Both last shipped on November 1, 2026.
