# SixString vs Freshup Automotive

The clearest difference is monetization model: Freshup Automotive at freemium against SixString's subscription. Freshup Automotive also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5). SixString's advantage is ratings volume (108 vs 3). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SixString sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Freshup Automotive sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Freshup Automotive holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: SixString has 108 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

SixString ships an update every 3 weeks, Freshup Automotive fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
