# Sous Chef Pro vs Egg Timer

The clearest difference is price: Egg Timer at Free against Sous Chef Pro's $24.99. Egg Timer also leads on update cadence (fortnightly vs every 3 months) and review sentiment (100% vs 89%). Sous Chef Pro's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 3.8) and in-app purchases (none vs 2). On ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Egg Timer is free to download; Sous Chef Pro costs $24.99 up front. Egg Timer sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Sous Chef Pro asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sous Chef Pro holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Sous Chef Pro has 29 ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 89% of Sous Chef Pro's written reviews are positive against 100% of Egg Timer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
