# The Bible Memory App vs BibleRef The clearest difference is in-app purchases: BibleRef at none against The Bible Memory App's 20. The Bible Memory App's advantage is ratings volume (33K vs 180) and update cadence (monthly vs every 4 months). On price, rating, review sentiment and ads there is nothing between them. Both are free to download. The Bible Memory App sells 17 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. BibleRef asks for nothing beyond the download. The Bible Memory App holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: The Bible Memory App has 33K ratings behind it against 180, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of The Bible Memory App's written reviews are positive against 87% of BibleRef's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about. The Bible Memory App ships an update monthly, BibleRef every 4 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively. ## The numbers | Metric | The Bible Memory App | BibleRef | | --- | --- | --- | | Price | Free | Free | | Rating | **[4.8 (33K ratings)](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/the-bible-memory-app/id496790833/reviews)** | [4.6 (180 ratings)](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/bibleref/id1596177226/reviews) | | Number of ratings | **33K** | 180 | | Positive reviews | 86.2% of reviews | **87.2% of reviews** | | In-app purchases | Yes | **No** | | Ads | No | No | | Update frequency | **Monthly** | Every 4 months | | Monetization | Free with in-app purchases | **Free** | | Best chart rank | **#99** | — | | Size | 103 MB | 171 MB | | Requires iOS | **15.0** | 15.1 | | Devices | **iPhone, iPad, iPod, Mac, Apple Watch** | iPhone, iPad, iPod | | Age rating | 4+ | 4+ | | Developer | [Millennial Apps, LLC](https://appshunter.io/developer/817220893) | [Got Questions Ministries](https://appshunter.io/developer/366553553) | ## What reviewers say ### The Bible Memory App [App page](https://appshunter.io/ios/app/the-bible-memory-app/id496790833) **Currently charting:** #99 Top Grossing · Reference, #191 Top Free · Reference (US App Store) This app offers a comprehensive system for memorizing, organizing, and reviewing Bible verses.
