# Crazy Bishop vs Chess Master Offline

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Crazy Bishop at 86% against Chess Master Offline's 40%. Crazy Bishop also leads on monetization model (ad-supported vs free with in-app purchases). Chess Master Offline's advantage is update cadence (fortnightly vs every 6 months) and rating (4.6 vs 4.2). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Chess Master Offline holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Chess Master Offline has 492 ratings behind it against 14, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Crazy Bishop's written reviews are positive against 40% of Chess Master Offline's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Crazy Bishop ships an update every 6 months, Chess Master Offline fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
