# PicPlayPost vs Gif Maker & Gif Editor

The clearest difference is ads: PicPlayPost at none against Gif Maker & Gif Editor's shown. PicPlayPost also leads on ratings volume (99K vs 104) and update cadence (monthly vs every 2 months). Gif Maker & Gif Editor's advantage is review sentiment (82% vs 68%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 16.6). On price, rating, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PicPlayPost sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month and Gif Maker & Gif Editor sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PicPlayPost holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PicPlayPost has 99K ratings behind it against 104, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 68% of PicPlayPost's written reviews are positive against 82% of Gif Maker & Gif Editor's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

PicPlayPost ships an update monthly, Gif Maker & Gif Editor every 2 months. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
