# RoomSync vs Roommates.com

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: RoomSync at none against Roommates.com's 5. RoomSync also leads on rating (4.7 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (5.1K vs 250). Roommates.com's advantage is review sentiment (27% vs 18%). On price, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Roommates.com sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.00 per 7 days. RoomSync asks for nothing beyond the download.

RoomSync holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RoomSync has 5.1K ratings behind it against 250, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 18% of RoomSync's written reviews are positive against 27% of Roommates.com's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RoomSync ships an update weekly, Roommates.com every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 30, 2026 respectively.
