# Level vs The Metal Detector

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Level at 746 against The Metal Detector's 7. Level also leads on iOS requirement (4.2 vs 15.6). The Metal Detector's advantage is rating (4.0 vs 3.8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

The Metal Detector holds the better App Store score, 4.0 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Level has 746 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.
