# Words Lesson vs Words

The clearest difference is price: Words at Free against Words Lesson's $2.99. Words also leads on rating (4.6 vs 4.2) and ratings volume (1.1K vs 11). Words Lesson's advantage is in-app purchases (none vs 14) and review sentiment (61% vs 50%). On update cadence, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Words is free to download; Words Lesson costs $2.99 up front. Words sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Words Lesson asks for nothing beyond the download.

Words holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 4.2. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Words has 1.1K ratings behind it against 11, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 61% of Words Lesson's written reviews are positive against 50% of Words's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 14, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
