# SuperTrains 1 vs Train Journey

The clearest difference is rating: Train Journey at 4.6 against SuperTrains 1's 3.3. Train Journey also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 10) and update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 2 months). SuperTrains 1's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and review sentiment (39% vs 27%). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SuperTrains 1 sells 10 one-off in-app purchases. Train Journey asks for nothing beyond the download.

Train Journey holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Train Journey has 1.2K ratings behind it against 55, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 39% of SuperTrains 1's written reviews are positive against 27% of Train Journey's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

SuperTrains 1 ships an update every 2 months, Train Journey every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 4, 2026 and November 3, 2026 respectively.
