# Sevius vs Blackboard

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Sevius at 45% against Blackboard's 14%. Sevius also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and iOS requirement (8.1 vs 14.0). Blackboard's advantage is update cadence (monthly vs every 6 months) and ratings volume (443K vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Sevius holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Blackboard has 443K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 45% of Sevius's written reviews are positive against 14% of Blackboard's.

Sevius ships an update every 6 months, Blackboard monthly. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 17, 2026 respectively.
