# RTL play vs VDM

The clearest difference is update cadence: RTL play at every 11 days against VDM's every 3 months. RTL play also leads on ratings volume (30 vs 6). VDM's advantage is rating (4.7 vs 4.3) and iOS requirement (14.0 vs 16.6). On price, review sentiment, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

VDM holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: RTL play has 30 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 30% of RTL play's written reviews are positive against 25% of VDM's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

RTL play ships an update every 11 days, VDM every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
