# Midtown Comics vs WebComics

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Midtown Comics at none against WebComics's 10. Midtown Comics also leads on ads (none vs shown) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). WebComics's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.4) and ratings volume (67K vs 1.5K). On price, review sentiment and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WebComics sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month. Midtown Comics asks for nothing beyond the download.

WebComics holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WebComics has 67K ratings behind it against 1.5K, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Midtown Comics's written reviews are positive against 45% of WebComics's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midtown Comics ships an update every 2 months, WebComics every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and November 6, 2026 respectively.
