# Midtown Comics vs Comic Book Viewer

The clearest difference is rating: Midtown Comics at 4.4 against Comic Book Viewer's 3.8. Midtown Comics also leads on ratings volume (1.4K vs 135) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.6). Comic Book Viewer's advantage is review sentiment (71% vs 53%). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Midtown Comics holds the better App Store score, 4.4 against 3.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Midtown Comics has 1.4K ratings behind it against 135, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 53% of Midtown Comics's written reviews are positive against 71% of Comic Book Viewer's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Midtown Comics ships an update every 2 months, Comic Book Viewer every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
