# Light Gomoku vs Pente Live

The clearest difference is review sentiment: Pente Live at 50% against Light Gomoku's 0%. Pente Live also leads on update cadence (every 5 days vs monthly) and ratings volume (340 vs 4). Light Gomoku's advantage is rating (4.8 vs 4.3) and monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Light Gomoku sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Pente Live sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $4.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Light Gomoku holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Pente Live has 340 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 0% of Light Gomoku's written reviews are positive against 50% of Pente Live's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Light Gomoku ships an update monthly, Pente Live every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
