# hh vs Online Chat

The clearest difference is ads: Online Chat at none against hh's shown. Online Chat also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases) and rating (5.0 vs 4.7). hh's advantage is review sentiment (46% vs 20%) and ratings volume (5.8K vs 1). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Online Chat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: hh has 5.8K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 46% of hh's written reviews are positive against 20% of Online Chat's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

hh ships an update weekly, Online Chat every 4 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 26, 2026 and October 22, 2026 respectively.
