# Aquarium 2 vs New Pixels

The clearest difference is price: Aquarium 2 at Free against New Pixels's $3.99. Aquarium 2 also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 78%). New Pixels's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 72 months) and ratings volume (415 vs 2). On rating, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Aquarium 2 is free to download; New Pixels costs $3.99 up front. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

New Pixels holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: New Pixels has 415 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 100% of Aquarium 2's written reviews are positive against 78% of New Pixels's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
