# ⋆FreeCell vs Forty Thieves

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Forty Thieves at none against ⋆FreeCell's 1. ⋆FreeCell's advantage is ratings volume (134K vs 4) and rating (4.7 vs 4.5). On price, ads, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ⋆FreeCell sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Forty Thieves asks for nothing beyond the download.

⋆FreeCell holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ⋆FreeCell has 134K ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two.

⋆FreeCell ships an update every 4 weeks, Forty Thieves every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on November 1, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
