# Norton Password Manager vs PasswordCaptain

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Norton Password Manager at 42K against PasswordCaptain's 7. Norton Password Manager also leads on rating (4.5 vs 4.3). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Norton Password Manager holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Norton Password Manager has 42K ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 86% of Norton Password Manager's written reviews are positive against 88% of PasswordCaptain's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Norton Password Manager ships an update every 5 weeks, PasswordCaptain every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 27, 2026 and October 23, 2026 respectively.
